Bloemfontein Celtic has continued their unbeaten run in the Premier Soccer League to five games with a 1-0 win over SuperSport United at the Free State Stadium.
The hosts generally enjoyed the better of the first half and opened the scoring on 26 minutes when Alfred Ndengane found the back of the net from Mukuka Mulenga’s assist.
Just under 10 minutes later Lerato Lamola had a sight of goal and looked to double Phunya Sele Sele’s advantage, but he put his effort wide.
Chances were few and far between in the second half, with both teams unable to really find an attacking rhythm.
The result sees Celtic remain in sixth place with 33 points from 22 matches, while Matsatsantsa drop to 10th on 27 points from 22 matches.
In last night's other games, Moroka Swallows scored two goals in the last 10 minutes of the match to beat Free State Stars 2-1.
Ajax Cape Town beat the ever difficult Blacks Aces 2-1 in the Mother City, while champions Mamelodi Sundowns thumped Polokane City 5-0 in Pretoria.
Platinum Stars scored a late winner against AmaTuks in the capital for a much needed 1-0 win and Maritzburg United stunned the high flying league leaders, Kaizer Chiefs with a 1-0 in Sleepy Hollow.
