Bloemfontein Celtic has kept their chances of finishing fourth in the Premier Soccer League alive with a 5-0 thrashing of league champions, Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria.
Furthermore, the drubbing of Pitso Mosimane’s Brazilianshas effectively ended his teams’ chances preventing Kaizer Chiefs from winning the league this season.
The contest in the capital city was over in the first minute when top-scorer, Lerato Lamola scored straight from kick-off.
Gabadino Mhango scored the first of this two goals in the 8th minute to pile the pressure on Sundowns.
Goals by Bafana Bafana defender Thapelo Morena, Musa Nyatama and Mhangos’ brace in the first 11 minutes of the second half truly drove the nail into the Brazilians title coffin.
Coach Clinton Larsen lauded his teams attack, but said the defenders laid the attacking foundation for the match.
Kaizer Chiefs now just need to beat Polokwane City at the FNB Stadium on Wednesday to win the league.
