Provincial police spokesperson, Stephen Thakeng, tells OFM News that the security company’s vehicle was travelling from the Beatrix Mine when it was hit by a white Toyota Camry, whilst occupants in a silver-grey Mercedez Benz fired shots towards the security vehicle. He says commercial explosives were used to blast the vehicle and gold ore, a R5 rifle and 9mm pistol belonging to the driver and his crew were taken.

Thakeng adds that a grey BMW was used as a getaway car and a white Toyota Camry were abandoned at the scene. A black BMW was also seen driving at a high speed in the same direction as the first grey BMW, with unknown registration number. Thakeng requested anyone with information to visit their nearest police station.
