Further delays expected on Monday─── MORGAN PIEK 09:00 Mon, 22 Aug 2016
The Black Caps of New Zealand will look to resume their first innings of the first Test against the Proteas on Monday morning after no play was possible on Sunday.
The third day's play was called off before lunch without a ball being bowled due to a wet field.
Following approximately 65mm of rain on Saturday evening the field was flooded and after two inspections by the umpires, Shaun George and Richard Illingworth, it was decided to call it the day's play.
There is, however, a possibility that the start of play will be postponed this morning especially with the rain turning the Umgeni End into a mud bath.
The visitors are currently on 15 for 2 with Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor the men at the crease and both have two runs to their names.
The men back in the pavilion are Martin Guptill with 7 runs and Tom Latham with 4 runs and both were removed by Dale Steyn.
South Africa still have a 248 run lead after scoring 263 runs in their first innings.
