Pite van Biljon - Louis Botha Gallo

There is no reason for the VKB Knights to panic yet, this is according to the team’s captain, Pite van Biljon.

The Knights face the second placed Dolphins on Wednesday in their 3rd Momentum One-Day Cup match of the campaign.

Thus far the team has a win and loss after beating the Cape Cobras by 100 runs in Bloemfontein and losing to the Warriors by 64 runs in Kimberley.

Van Biljon told OFM Sport that they just have to execute their plans against the Dolphins tomorrow.

“We went a little outside of our game plan against the Warriors.

“Their spinner certainly tied us down and were a handful to deal with, we had a bit of trouble on that wicket.

“The Dolphins are a completely different team on a different field and different conditions.

“We’ll just have to start well and stay within our game plan.

“The guys know what to do and we just have to execute our plans”.

The skipper added that the confidence in the team is still good after winning the domestic Sunfoil Series.

“The confidence is a little higher in terms of the belief that we can go all the way in a competition.

“In the past maybe we knew we could beat teams or maybe win one-off games, where after winning a trophy we definitely feel that we can go all the way in a campaign rather than just half the campaign”.

Wednesday’s One-Day Cup match between the Knights and the Dolphins at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein gets underway at 14:00.
