New approaches in animal health under discussion in Northern Cape─── 14:32 Wed, 07 Dec 2016
Upington - Agriculture, veterinary and animal health officials are gathered in Upington in the Northern Cape this week to participate in a two-day scientific meeting.
The meeting is being hosted in conjunction with Onderstepoort Biological Products, OBP.
According to a statement it is intended to share new scientific approaches, as well as control measures.
Items on the agenda include discussions around control of foreign animal diseases entering the province, Northern Cape’s response to the swine fever outbreak in Free State and North West and the situation with bovine tuberculosis in wildlife.
The meeting will also deal with international trade challenges, SA Veterinary Council matters and rabies control in wildlife, among other things.
