Manchester City will face Liverpool in the final of the Capital One Cup at Wembley next month.

The Citizens booked their spot in the final with a 3-1 win over Everton at the Etihad Stadium in the second leg semi-final last night.

Everton would have thought that their passage was secure after Ross Barkley scored for the Toffees in the 18th minute to take a 3-1 aggregate lead.

Fernando equalised for the home side in the 24th minute to start the comeback.

Kevin de Bruyne gave the home side the lead in the 70th minute through a controversial goal before Sergio Aguero drove the final nail into the Everton coffin six minutes later.

Man City coach, Manuel Pellegrini, says they deserve to be in the final against the Reds but warned that it’s not going to be a walk in the park.

"It's difficult as we have to play nine games in February. It's important for us to keep a winning mentality in all competitions, but we'll see tomorrow what is the best starting eleven for that game.

"It is not easy as we have injuries to Kolarov, Kompany, Mangala, Bony and De Bruyne, but we will try and put an eleven on the pitch that will allow us to keep us in the FA Cup also."

The final will be played on 28 February at Wembley in London.
