The exciting Bloemfontein Celtic midfielder, Thapelo Morena, has confirmed that he will be leaving Phunya Sele Sele.
Morena recently returned from Rio de Janeiro where he did duty with the national under 23 side at the Olympic Games.
The player has been linked with a move to the PSL champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, but has decided to join the Pitso Mosimane’ Brazilians.
Morena feels the brand of football played at Sundowns is best suited to his style of play and also believes a more competitive team environment will improve his game.
Earlier Celtic announced that Morena had extended his contract at the club by three years, something the player and his agent rubbished.
Celtic later stated that he didn’t take up a contract extension, but they increased the player’s salary.
Thulani Thuswa of Sundowns also confirmed that Morena will be joining them and an official announcement is expected shortly.
