The Hawks were reacting to information received about a person selling drugs, using a shop to front to conceal his criminal activities.
A foreign national, Chibuike Johnbosco Ezike (29), briefly appeared in court on Friday 1 December 2023 after being arrested and charged with dealing drugs.
Free State Hawks spokesperson Fikiswa Matoti said the Hawks conducted a disruptive operation on Wednesday 29 November 2023 and executed a search warrant. She added the small business premises, Ugoo Best Trading on Douglas Street, Bloemfontein, were searched.

It's understood the Hawks were reacting to information received about a person selling drugs, using a shop front to conceal his criminal activities. Four blank plastic bags containing suspected CAT drugs were discovered during the search and the suspect was arrested on the spot. The suspect appeared in court yesterday and his case was remanded to 11 December 2023 for bail application.
Meanwhile, Matoti said the Free State High Court granted the Hawks an asset forfeiture order worth R69 698 on Thursday, 30 November 2023. This follows a tip-off regarding drug dealing activities in Bainsvlei, Bloemfontein, in April 2019. A search was done and a significant amount of drugs, including CAT, til and cocaine were discovered inside a Mecerdez Benz. An additional amount of R69 698 was seized.
