Fire near Rhodes Memorial under control─── 08:11 Mon, 06 Apr 2015
Cape Town - A large vegetation fire, which was reported on the slopes of Table Mountain above the Rhodes Memorial yesterday, has been brought under control.
Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue services spokesperson Theo Layne says the fire was brought under control by late afternoon.
Six vehicles and more than 20 City of Cape Town firefighters, as well as additional personnel from the Table Mountain National Park were deployed to fight the large vegetation fire.
Layne says no property was damaged by the blaze.
