Johannesburg - The National Credit Regulator (NCR) says it has referred Edcon Limited to the National Consumer Tribunal.
This after it charged consumers a club fee on credit agreements in contravention of the National Credit Act.
The NCR's Jacqueline Boucher says the Act allows consumers to be given a quotation which sets out the cost of credit before signing credit agreements.
She says consumers should request this quotation from credit providers so that they can properly check the cost of credit that's being offered.
