Grey’s School Governing Body to study court outcome─── SAZLY HARTZENBERG 16:42 Fri, 18 Jan 2019
The Grey College School Governing Body (SGB) will be studying yesterday’s court outcome before deciding on a way forward.
According to the Chairman of Grey College’s SGB, Henry Büchner, the SGB consists of 19 people who need to sit down and discuss the way forward.
OFM News reported earlier that the SGB lost their application for leave to appeal against the ruling the court made in 2018 regarding the position of the headmaster, Deon Scheepers, in the Bloemfontein High Court on Thursday.
This after the SGB wanted the headmaster to be stripped of his duties. The Provincial Secretary of the SAOU, Reniël Lodewyk, told OFM News that they have been waiting for the outcome of this case since November last year.
He further explained that the union welcomes this ruling as it is their job to act in favour of all the teachers at the school and to protect their rights. Lodewyk said the union has been fighting for this outcome since the start of this case.
