ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, tells OFM News that the accident occurred at around 03:00 on Memorium Road. Meiring says the details surrounding the incident are not yet known, but when emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene, they found the two vehicles lying in the middle of the road with people lying around the scene.

“On further inspection, paramedics found that two people from the same vehicle had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead. Nine other patients were tended to on the scene. Five were found to be in a critical condition while the remaining patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries,” explains Meiring.

The five people in a critical condition received advanced life support interventions, while the rest were treated at the scene and all transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
