OFM rallies support for PurrPaws following devastating fire─── SAZLY HARTZENBERG 07:09 Fri, 01 Feb 2019
Parts of an animal shelter, PurrPaws for Life in Vanderbijlpark burned down this week, with the fire destroying the house where the shelter's Lindie van Rooyen, her husband and two volunteers lived - but they are not being left in the lurch.
Despite structural damage, about 30 animals did not survive the fire.Touted to be the largest pro-life shelter in the Vaal triangle, it housed at least 1 300 animals. At this stage about 200 dogs have been placed in foster care but there is still a great need. The community, as well as OFM and it's listeners, is pulling together and raising funds and donations, while calling for temporary homes for some pets. The Just Plain Drive's Darren Scott, also gave the shelter some very good news...
OFM has also decided to donate a further R3 000 to the owner of the shelter, Lindie van Rooyen who also lost everything in the fire. Listeners who would like to to donate food, blankets or are even able to foster an animal from the shelter to get in touch with OFM, the Sound of Your Life.
