Elderly woman shot dead in NW farm attack─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 16:53 Fri, 01 Feb 2019

An elderly woman has been shot dead in an armed robbery on a farm near Vorstershoop, outside Vryburg in the North West on Friday.
Police spokesperson, Adele Myburgh, says the 69-year-old woman’s lifeless body was found by her husband after he returned from the field on the farm at around 08:00 in the morning. Myburgh says the elderly woman had a gunshot wound to the head while the couple’s domestic worker was missing. According to the spokesperson, the domestic worker was kidnapped by an unconfirmed number of assailants and dropped off in an open field. She was not harmed and did not have any injuries and later returned to the house.
While police have not confirmed the exact number of assailants, they do suspect that there are three people at large after the murder. An SUV and two pistols have been reported missing from the house. Myburgh says they are investigating a case of murder and theft.
