#ANCvsANC applicants accuse FS ANC leadership of delaying tactics | News Article

The Free State ANC leadership is being accused of using delaying tactics to frustrate their opposition in the much-publicised ANC vs ANC High Court case.

This is set out in a letter sent to the legal team of the provincial party leadership - Moroka Attorneys - by the ANC applicants. According to the letter in OFM News’ possession, Moroka Attorneys intends on informing the Free State High Court tomorrow, February 7, that they have not been paid by their clients and are therefore withdrawing as their legal counsel. The leader of the disgruntled ANC members, Monnapula Ntamo, tells OFM News this is nothing more than a delaying tactic. Applicants - Matshepo Ramakatsa, Lebeko Maile, Themba Mvandaba and Shashapa Motaung – approached the court last year to challenge the legality of the provincial elective conference which was held in May. Ntamo says there have been several delays so far.

OFM News has contacted Moroka Attorneys for comment. They indicated that the contents of the letter are false and they will, in fact, be present in court tomorrow, representing their clients.

It was at this elective conference that MEC of Police, Roads, and Transport, Sam Mashinini, was elected ANC Chairperson in the province, William Bulwane Deputy Chairperson, and Paseka Nompondo the Secretary. In the letter, Selepe Attorneys – representing the applicants – allege that it is Nompondo who let the cat out of the bag at a meeting between regional members of the party. Ntamo says upon receiving this information, they approached Dexter Selepe to put the letter together and send it to Moroka Attorneys. Ntamo says that Moroka Attorneys is yet to confirm or refute the allegations made to them as is instructed in the letter.
