#ANCvsANC to resume in FS High Court | News Article

The High Court case to have the Free State ANC provincial leadership disbanded is set to continue today.

This comes merely a day after former North West Premier, Supra Mahumapelo emerged victorious from the Gauteng High Court, as it was determined that the decision by the governing ANC’s national executive committee (NEC) to disband the party’s North West provincial executive committee (PEC), chaired by Mahumapelo, was procedurally unfair and a breach of the party’s constitution and in violation of the applicants’ constitutional rights.

The matter will sit following allegations that the firm, Moroka Attorneys, is intent on employing delaying tactics by withdrawing as counsel for the ANC provincial leadership. This allegation is laid out in a letter from Selepe Attorneys – for the applicants – addressed to the legal team of the provincial party.

According to the letter, in OFM News’ possession, Moroka Attorneys intends on informing the Free State High Court today, that they have not been paid by their clients and are therefore withdrawing as their legal counsel.

The firm says that the contents of the letter are false and it’s all systems go, for tomorrow’s court appearance.
