RAF donates medical equipment to NW Health─── PULANE CHOANE 14:40 Thu, 07 Feb 2019
The MEC of Health in the North West, Madoda Sambatha, earlier today welcomed a delegation from the Road Accident Fund (RAF) after it set out to donate medical equipment to the Department.
The two entities met at the Tshepang Hospital in Klerksdorp, North West, on Thursday morning where Sambatha accepted the equipment which was donated by the fund as part of its corporate social investment mandate.
The provincial health department’s spokesperson, Tebogo Lekgethwane, said the gesture from the RAF comes as the provincial department deals with a high number of patients who are victims of road accidents. While Lekgwethwane did not reveal how much the equipment is worth, he confirmed that the fund donated two resuscitation beds, two cardiac monitors, one mobile cardiac monitor, one mobile ventilator including accessories as well as a stationary ventilator, including the accessories and a humidifier.
Meanwhile, the fund was also in Bethlehem in the Free State on Saturday where it held a community outreach programme raising awareness on the services provided by the organisation. Staff from the company also assisted people in the town with registering new claims, consolidating compliance documents and rendered a few other services as per the fund’s mandate.
