All eyes set on NC #SOPA2019─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 14:56 Wed, 20 Feb 2019
All eyes will be set on the Northern Cape State of the Province Address delivered by Premier Sylvia Lucas on Thursday.
The much-anticipated speech set to kick off at 10 am at the Mittah Seperepere Convention Centre in Kimberley, is expected to outline provincial government policies, the direction to be taken for the year, and to address questions regarding service delivery issues experienced in their provinces.
The DA in the province told OFM News that they expect nothing special from the speech as they predict it will be a repetition of things that the provincial government were supposed to implement years ago. The party’s provincial leader, Andrew Louw, said the province is plagued by poor service delivery, a water crisis and high unemployment rate, amongst others. He says they are tired of empty promises made every year and will like to see Lucas take action.
