Higher Education labels NW College allegations as rumours─── LUCKY NKUYANE 12:00 Thu, 21 Feb 2019
The Department of Higher Education and Training is not going to investigate allegations of lecturers at a Klerksdorp College in North West who are soliciting so-called romantic favours from students in exchange for good marks and money.
Spokesperson, Lunga Ngqengelele, responded to detailed media questions from OFM News, saying the department is not going to react to “rumours”.
He said students know the right channels to lodge complaints, which then can be investigated and a decision taken on those implicated.
OFM News earlier reported the stories of four female students implicating foreign lecturers at the privately owned College in Klerksdorp.
They said romantic relationships between the foreign lecturers and students is a culture at the College. In a telephonic interview, the principal said that he would investigate these allegations.
