He says although there are serious water-related issues due to the scarcity of water and drought around the country, this is being exacerbated by officials who are not committed to doing their duty by ensuring infrastructure and other issues are being taken care of.

He was speaking after leading a team made up of Members of the Executive Council and senior public servants to Itsoseng in Ditsobotla Local Municipality on a walkabout in some of the local development projects. Mokgoro says that the issues that have been raised by residents in Itsoseng and around the province are issues that can easily be managed and dealt with.

Central to the decision to take the EXCO meeting to Itsoseng is to afford Premier Mokgoro and EXCO members the opportunity to meet with the community of Itsoseng. Mokgoro and EXCO members also embarked on a walkabout in some of the local development projects, including the brick-making project and a water reservoir.
