Suspect linked to crimes arrested in Botshabelo─── LUCKY NKUYANE 11:38 Sun, 10 Mar 2019
A 42-year-old man, linked to two different incidents of crime, is soon expected to appear before the Botshabelo Magistrate’s court in the Free State following his arrest on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Martin Xuma, says this follows after the suspect was found in possession of a suspected stolen vehicle and firearm.
The discovery of these was the result of a tip-off to the Selosesha Crime Intelligence Cluster after it was reported that a suspect in section U had a wound and refused medical attention.
Police during the visit at the suspect's place of residence found he failed to give a valid reason for the wound and a search was then conducted.
Police found a pistol with 14 rounds of ammunition allegedly stolen during a 2018 farm attack in Hoopdal, Limpopo, and along with it a Silver Mercedes Benz worth R350 000, reported stolen in Sebokeng, Gauteng, in February 2019.
Xuma says the suspect was then arrested on the spot for being in possession of stolen items and has since been hospitalised under police guard.
