One person has died and two others left with moderate to minor injuries following an accident on the N1 South outside Bloemfontein in the Free State on Wednesday.
Provincial Emergency Medical Services Spokesperson, Sipho Towa tells OFM News, the accident occurred in close proximity to a fuel station along the N1 between the Kenneth Kaunda Road and Nelson Mandela Drive off-ramps.
Towa says two vehicles collided with one another, just before 17:30 on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person dead.
A second person had to be freed from one of the vehicles using the Jaws of Life, while a third sustained minor injuries.
According to Towa, the two survivors of the accident were taken to the Mediclinic Hospital in Bloemfontein for medical attention.
Traffic was disturbed while the accident scene, before the fuel station was being attended to, but it has been confirmed traffic is flowing freely on the N1 South on Thursday.
