Municipal spokesperson, Qondile Khedama, says the city’s Traffic, Fire and Rescue services as well as Roads and Storm water teams will be on standby for the next two days as the weather service has issued a warning against cooler weather conditions, rainfall, and severe thunder storms for the central parts of the Free State. 

Following flash floods that caused several traffic delays and left many residents in Bloemfontein destitute with their houses flooded over a month ago, Khedama says the city’s Roads and Stormwater Unit will continue unblocking stormwater drainage systems across the city and implement remedial measures where the need arises.
