The council met on Friday after Sithole tendered her resignation letter on Wednesday in which she did not question her capacity, commitment and passion to deliver, but that constant attacks on her office impacted negatively on her efforts and the team she leads.

Municipal spokesperson, David Magae, told OFM News that the council engaged Sithole on the matter and found the manager’s allegations contained in her resignation had no substantive evidence to support her claims.

Sithole informed the council that she would have left in 2018 after not finding joy with the treatment she received.

Magae adds the council accepted her resignation letter in order for the municipality to save face.
