The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) says it will give a detailed response to questions and suspicions over the objection to naming former North West premier, Supra Mahumapelo, and others on the ANC list.
This as Mahumapelo on Saturday was quoted in the media saying the IEC must disclose the names of those who are objecting to his deployment to Parliament.
He said he had written to the IEC requesting information about the complaint against him following alleged objections to his name being included on the African National Congress' (ANC) list of candidates to Parliament.
However, the commission’s spokesperson, Kate Bapela, tells OFM News that the commission will clarify its position in all of these during a planned media briefing on Tuesday.
Mahumapelo says it's unfortunate that his name is being punted on different media platforms as someone who's failed the ethics and integrity test.
During the week the IEC said it received objections to 30 names on the ANC list and the state capture, fraud and rape are among their reasons.
The ANC has until noon on Wednesday to respond to the submissions.
