Dozens of rescued flamingo chicks returning to NC─── 10:42 Wed, 10 Apr 2019
Dozens of flamingo chicks will take to the skies on Wednesday.
They're headed for Kimberley after being rescued and rehabilitated at Durban's uShaka Marine World.
uShaka Sea world provided temporary shelter for 250 flamingo chicks rescued by the Kimberley SPCA from the Kamfers Dam.
Thousands of flamingo chicks were abandoned when the dam started drying up.
The Northern Cape dam is one of only four breeding grounds in Africa for the lesser flamingo but a lack of water has made the dam too shallow earlier this year.
