Bfn drug dealer nabbed with R130 000 worth of drugs | News Article

A 30-year-old male has been arrested by the police in Bloemfontein after he was found with cocaine, CAT, crystal meth, ecstasy, and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of R130 000.

The spokesperson for the police in the Free State, Lorraine Earle, says this comes after a multi-disciplinary effort pounced at the man’s house, which is said to be at an upmarket suburb in the west of Bloemfontein. There they seized an undisclosed amount of cash, several cell phones - which allegedly rang tirelessly during the suspect’s arrest - and finally, the vehicle suspected to have been used during the transactions. This bust, which was made on Saturday morning, forms part of a weeklong endeavour by police to bring the suspect to the book.

Police said that they worked tirelessly last week to ensure that the man would be arrested over the weekend. Meanwhile, they remain unclear on when the suspect will make his court appearance at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court as his case is still being finalized, however, Earle said it would be soon.

This breakthrough, which police in the province consider a milestone, was made by members of the police’s Bloemfontein Dog Unit, as well as the Provincial Counter Narcotic and Cyber Crime Unit.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Moeketsi Sempe, said the fight against drug dealers will never stop and the police are working nonstop to get to dealers. He applauded the members for their dedication and their efforts to bring the dealer to book. “Drug-related issues lead to the destruction of families and is an illness in our society that we as the police and the community must fight together.”
