Suspected killer of NC toddler to appear in court on Friday─── LUCKY NKUYANE 08:46 Thu, 02 May 2019
The suspected murderer of a toddler whose body was found in the Vaal River near Delportshoop in the Northern Cape is on Friday expected to appear in court.
The man was arrested just recently after the toddler went missing earlier in April. Police spokesperson, Olebogeng Tawana, says the man is facing, amongst others, charges of murder, assault and attempted rape.
This after the suspect allegedly gained entry through the window and attempted to rape the mother of the toddler. When the mother escaped, he instead snatched the toddler. Tawana says it is believed that her body was dumped in a bag and then thrown into the river. The girl was abducted from her home in Rooikoppies, Delportshoop. Tawana says members of the SAPS Diving Unit retrieved the girl’s body last week Thursday afternoon.
