The IEC's teams in the Northern Cape town of Postmasburg are struggling to enter the town after heavy rain in the area.

OFM News earlier reported that in Kimberley, there were drizzles this morning, while cloudy skies were also reported in Upington following last night's heavy rains in the area.

The IEC in the province yesterday also said they were not anticipating heavy rains as weather services indicated to them that only 5 to 15mm of rain is expected. The provincial manager, Elkin Topkin, told OFM News that in Postmasburg, the IEC fleet are struggling to enter the town owing to thick mud caused by the rain.

Meanwhile, OFM News’ journalist, Pulane Choane, has indicated that in Kimberley where she is stationed, there is thunder with a thick bank of clouds, which means rain is eminent in that area. She further says it remains to be seen how this will affect voter turnout as the day progresses.
