Magashule not implicated in Vrede report: Public protector─── 14:49 Tue, 21 May 2019
Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane denied that former premier of the Free State and the current Secretary General of the ANC, Ace Magashule is implicated in her report on the Estina Dairy Farm Project at Vrede.
This follows after Casac executive secretary Lawson Naidoo mentioned that Magashule was implicated in the provisional report released by Mkhwebane.
Her utterances follows after the Pretoria High Court on Monday set aside her report into the Estina Dairy Farm Project saying it was unconstitutional and invalid.
Mkhwebane told SABC News that her report doesn’t mention or implicate Magashule but officials from the provincial government.
Mkhwebane says she will make the provisional report public in the next few days.
Yesterday Judge Ronel Tolmay ruled in favour of the Democratic Alliance and the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (Casac) and set the report aside.
The Estina dairy Vrede project was meant to benefit about one hundred black farmers to the value of R200 million but the money never reached the beneficiaries.
The farmers were promised five cows each in the interests of empowerment, however that did not happen.
Mkhwebane has as a result, indicated that she is considering her legal options, including a possible approach to the Constitutional Court.
