Gangster State author disappointed with absence of ANC | News Article

Award-winning investigative journalist and author of Gangster State, Pieter-Louis Myburgh has expressed his disappointment at the ANC in the Free State’s decision to not show up at the Bloemfontein leg of his book discussion.

The party in the province’s spokesperson, Thabo Meeko had earlier said that the party members were looking forward to engaging Myburgh on accusations he levels against the Secretary General of the ANC, Ace Magashule.

In his book, Myburgh says Magashule was at the centre of state capture in the province during his tenure as premier from 2009 to 2018. Speaking to OFM News on Thursday at the University of the Free State, Myburgh says he had been looking forward to a constructive debate with them.

Meanwhile, questions have been sent to Meeko on why the party in the province decided to make a u-turn on their decision to attend the event and also ask Myburgh questions on allegations he makes against Magashule, who holds one of the most senior and powerful positions in the party at national level.
