Scores of residents have arrived to be part of road show organised by the Free State Department of Labour, which is currently underway at the Rea Hola Shopping Complex in Botshabelo, Free State.

The provincial department explains that over the next three days, it will be targeting residents, who have issues with receiving payments from the Compensation and Unemployment funds.

OFM News's journalist, Pulane Choane, reports that over 500 people are currently on the scene.

"There are long queues at this activation, where many of those in line are people who say they need more information on why they haven't received their compensation and unemployment insurances fund payouts from their respective employers. From what I have observed, the bulk of the people in these queues are elderly persons, however, there's also a large grouping of young persons who are also here to bring their resumes, as the department has asked them to hand these in so that they can be captured on the jobseekers' database."

One of the stakeholders currently on board is also the Rand Mutual Assurance, which will be dealing with compensation fund claims from residents who are either currently working in the petroleum, mining or iron and steel industries or used to work for these companies.
