Police offer R10 000 reward for missing Kimberley man─── PULANE CHOANE 17:51 Mon, 10 Jun 2019
Efforts to find 40-year-old Rrabatho Lekhu, who was reported missing in Kimberley two months ago, have intensified as police are offering a R10 000 cash reward to anyone with new information on his disappearance.
OFM News had reported last week that there have been no arrests in this case, nor are there any new leads.
This latest development comes as police spokesperson in the Northern Cape, Tessa Jansen, over the weekend announced that while police have tried several investigation techniques, Lekhu remains missing. This comes after Jansen earlier stated that the police in the city will now also resort to using national avenues in their efforts to trace Lekhu.
In an earlier interview with Jansen, she said that police in the province were now looking to place Lekhu’s missing advert in national papers to extend the search to other provinces. Police at this stage have no witnesses either but she said that police will protect the identity of any person who comes forward with information on Lekhu’s disappearance. The R10 000 will be awarded to anyone whose information will lead to the finding of Lekhu or the apprehension of the responsible person for his unlikely disappearance.
Should informants not want to contact the police at a local station, police urge them to then rather call the Crime Stop number at 08600 10111 to offer any information on his disappearance.
