This is according to police spokesperson in the Free State, Stephen Thakeng, who said that this comes after he was yesterday arrested by members of the Public Order Police’s (POP) Reaction team after they caught him and an accomplice at a suburb in the area.

The Acting Cluster Commander of Welkom, Brigadier Mzondi Mojafi, commended members of the POP Reaction Team for their efforts to keep on working hard and disarming criminals, and for removing them from the streets of Welkom to make it’s a safe area for the people. He further said: “We regard this arrest and seizure of a firearm as a breakthrough”.
