According to police spokesperson Mmako Mophiring, the men terrorised the community by stabbing their victims to death.

He says three men and a woman, who was also raped in the process, were stabbed to death in the last two years by the convicted men.

He says the murders took place in the Eastern Free State.

Meanwhile, police say a female security officer, who worked at National Hospital, was allegedly gunned down by her husband next to Shoprite in Rocklands, Bloemfontein, on Friday.

It's still unclear what motive of the murder was but according to an eye witness, who spoke to OFM News, he saw a man in his early 40's walk from the store and gun down the woman who was sitting in the car.

The police say they are investigating the shooting.
