FS cold weather sparks fire─── 12:49 Wed, 03 Jul 2019
As the cold weather continues to intensify in many parts of the Free State, residents have been warned to be on the lookout for runaway fires.
The spokesperson for Working on Fire, Wayne Mokhethi, says the fire season has started and fires have been picking up especially in the Eastern Free State due to colder weather.
He adds that they have had ten fires across the province in the last few days of which six have been in Phuthaditjhaba.
Mokhethi states that another fire broke out in Wilgepark, Qwaqwa, in the Free State last night (Tuesday) which the team managed to successfully extinguish.
He further appeals to residents to urgently report any fire to their nearest fire station.
