#NCSOPA: Missing middle to receive housing subsidy─── PULANE CHOANE 17:46 Fri, 05 Jul 2019
Those earning too much to benefit from the national government's RDP housing scheme but too little to qualify for bank housing loans may now benefit from a housing subsidy scheme the Northern Cape is going to introduce.
This is according to the premier, Zamani Saul, who during his State of the Province Address today revealed that this is to ensure that people like nurses, police officials and teachers are able to also own their own houses and are able to qualify for such. It is at this stage unclear whether the programme is already operational or yet to begin either later this year or next year.
He also added that the provincial government would see to it that beneficiaries of this scheme receive adequate basic services such as water, electricity and sewerage services.
As he concluded his address, it was clear that Saul's focus for this administration is not only on providing quality education and job opportunities but also on bettering the provision of services in the health sector as well as improving the lives of all in the province.
