Residents march for expelled councillors─── 10:36 Thu, 18 Jul 2019
Disgruntled ANC members in the Maluti-A-Phofung municipality in the Free State took their anger to the municipal premises yesterday.
Residents have put on record that they will not stop fighting until the ANC reinstate all 16 councillors who were expelled from the party after rebelling against the Free State ANC’s Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) and voting with the opposition.
The march organiser, Mphafi Mphare, told OFM News that justice should be served to the remaining 31 ANC councillors who voted with the opposition parties during the passing of the budget earlier this month.
He says the 16 expelled councillors have been alleged to have voted with the opposition parties previously, therefore treatment should be the same. Mphare also pointed out that they expect the ANC National Executive Committee to finalise their decision over the future of the expelled councillors before the end of this month.
