Wife of murdered Bloemfontein man abandons bail application─── PULANE CHOANE 16:57 Fri, 19 Jul 2019
The 51-year-old Kelebogile Mokoena will remain in custody until 8 August, after she abandoned her bail application in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.
This is according to police spokesperson in the Free State, Peter Kareli, who says Mokoena appeared at the court yesterday and expressed that she would not be applying for bail.
Mokoena was arrested last week Tuesday for being positively linked to the murder of her husband, well known farmer in the city, Lucas Mokoena, who was killed at his home on Monday night.
While Kareli would not divulge to OFM News what police suspect about Kelebogile’s connection with regards to her husband’s killing, Volksblad reports that she allegedly poisoned her own dogs to make it easier for the alleged hitmen to gain entry into the home.
She faces a charge of conspiracy to murder. The two men said to have shot and killed Mokoena at his home are still at large.
