Temps in Central SA to plunge this week─── OLEBOGENG MOTSE 11:42 Mon, 22 Jul 2019

South Africans are being told to brace themselves for another cold week, with temperatures to take another major dip.
The South African Weather Service says the cold and wet conditions expected in the Western Cape province on Tuesday, will spread over to the rest of Central South Africa from Wednesday onwards. A forecaster at the Service’s Bloemfontein office, Elani Heyneke, warns that while the Free State, Northern Cape, and North West are only expected to be hard hit from Wednesday onwards, the dry and windy conditions experienced over the next two days are favourable for runaway veld fires as well.
The public is advised to be aware of the possibility of runaway veld fires over the next two days.
Heyneke says there is a high chance of showers over the southern parts of the Northern Cape this week, and a low probability of rainfall in the southern parts of the Free State. She adds that from Friday onwards temperatures will steadily increase and South Africans will experience a warmer weekend from the freezing work week. At the height of the cold front, temperatures will dip to below –5 degrees throughout the country.
