R2.5 million NC fraudster to appear in court─── 17:03 Tue, 23 Jul 2019
The Hawks’ Serious Commercial Crime Investigation Unit on Sunday night arrested a 51-year-old suspect in connection with fraud to the value of R2.5 million.
The suspect was arrested at Berea in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and is expected to appear in the Kuruman Magistrate’s Court on August 23rd.
It is alleged that a tender worth R2.5 million was awarded by the Ga-Segonyana Municipality in August 2016 to Tshenelo Company, who expected payment once the tasks were completed.
It later became known that the banking details of the company were allegedly changed which resulted in the money being paid into a false account.
