NW man in court after shallow grave discovery─── KATLEHO MORAPELA 10:13 Wed, 24 Jul 2019
A 41-year-old man is expected to appear before the Bray Magistrate’s Court in the North West in connection with the alleged murder of his 35-year-old girlfriend.
Police spokesperson, Amanda Funani, says it is alleged the suspect killed and buried the victim in a shallow grave at a farm where they worked. She says the victim was last seen with the suspect during the first weekend of July and was reported missing by her family on the 21st of July.
Funani says the police intervened when the community of Matlhoding, outside Tshidilamolomo, became suspicious of the suspect and started questioning him and the information received led the police to the farm where he allegedly buried the victim.
Funani adds that the decomposed body was discovered, exhumed from the shallow grave and then taken to the local mortuary. She says the suspect was arrested yesterday and is set to make his first court appearance.
