The group started by fixing potholes in roads around the township and later started a car wash.

Speaking to OFM News, chairperson Lawrence Mofokeng (27) explained that it all started when they were trying to make quick money, but received so much support from people that they decided to take it seriously and work hard. The group says the money they earn help to buy food and other necessities.

The group consists of 11 members who are between the ages of 22 and 30. They work from Monday to Saturday.

Olebogeng Mphande (29) said they want to create a park and maintain it so that their project does not end and see them going back to gang-related activities.

Mofokeng stated they advise anyone thinking of joining gangs not to do so as crime does not pay.
