A Warrant Officer is flying the flag of the Northern Cape SAPS high after earning his LLB degree.

The South African Police Services (SAPS), via its Twitter account page, announced on Friday that Blessing Tselane was further admitted as an Advocate of the High Court in Kimberley. Tselane tells OFM News that he was inspired by his interest in labour law during his tenure as shop steward representing the South African Police Union (SAPU). The SAPS says this is a culmination of many years of studious legal studies and pupillage. Tselane says during his time as a legal administration officer he wanted to know what the union could do to minimise the number of litigations against the men and women in blue.

Tselane attained his LLB while in the employ of the SAPS, he holds a Master of Law degree, and he is in the process of attaining an LLD. The SAPS further says Tselane is attached to the SAPS Labour Relations office in Kimberley. The SAPS adds Tselane has credited the SAPS for affording him the financial resources that enabled him to reach this milestone. Tselane says his love for law began when he was still at school when a teacher introduced a courtroom dramatisation to his class. He has thanked the SAPS for assisting him in completing his studies through the University of South Africa (UNISA).
