The Free State police say they are still searching for full details around how the 45-year-old Bethlehem businessman, Gerard de Boer, was murdered and the exact cause of his death.
De Boer was found, presumably strangled, at his place of work after his wife raised concern this weekend. Police spokesperson, Puleng Lebakeng, says the discovery of his body follows a complaint by his wife who became worried about De Boer when he did not show up at his house after work. Lebakeng says the police and paramedics were called to the scene and the victim was declared dead at the scene at around 7 pm on Saturday 17 August 2019.
Lebakeng says no-one has been arrested at this stage and the police are still investigating a case of murder.
