The pastor and accused number two in the murder of 51-year-old Bloemfontein-based farmer, Ntau Lucas Mokoena, will return to the dock in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court where he is set to apply for bail.

In his previous appearance in early August, the state revealed that it would be opposing bail for the 31-year-old accused, Elvis ‘Sonnyboy’ Galeboe. Accused number one in the matter, the deceased’s wife, 51-year-old Kelebogile Mokoena, abandoned her bail application previously but is also expected to appear before the court today.

Galeboe has been revealed by the Oudtshoorn newspaper, Die Hoorn,  to have a shady past that dates back to at least 2016. Journalist Angelique Erasmus contacted OFM News following Galeboe’s arrest, sharing that she has been following up on the links the Western Cape authorities have made between Galeboe and the accused in a separate matter - the murder of South African Defence Force (SANDF) Sergeant Preston Titus in Oudtshoorn, for which four people were arrested and charged. One of the accused, Masithembe January, is also a pastor in the matter.

The 51-year-old Bloemfontein-based taxi boss and farmer was gunned down in his Fichardt Park home on July 8 in the presence of his wife. She allegedly poisoned their dogs to enable the hitmen to enter the home easily.
