EFF Women’s structure aims to curb bribery | News Article

The EFF Women’s structure in Sedibeng marched to all criminal justice entities in Gauteng, including the constitutional court, to plea for efficient justice for victims of gender-based violence.

These victims include women and children, the LGBT community and people living with disabilities. The women have pointed out that they are not fighting with the provincial government, but want the criminal justice system to strengthen their work on issues involving women and children, as well as people living with disabilities.

The EFF Gauteng chairperson, Mandisa Mashego, told OFM News that the march attempts to curb bribery on cases relating to gender-based violence, to protect the victims.

Mashego further reiterated that they previously marched to the Constitutional Court in April this year, demanding proper training of judges when dealing with issues affecting women and children.

She concluded by saying all the entities, including SAPS, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), the Public Protector and the Gender Commission, have demands that require work in terms of drafting laws, amending and implementing existing policies.
