Gauteng government to help suffering businesses─── 15:48 Fri, 23 Aug 2019
The Gauteng government is going to engage with steel companies in the Vaal, Gauteng, who are facing financial stress, in an attempt to curb retrenchments and to keep these companies in business.
This is according to Gauteng MEC for Finance and e-Government, Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, during a meeting held today with local businesses in Vanderbijlpark, to discuss financial recovery plans and service delivery affecting business owner's in the Emfuleni Local Municipality.
The meetings were attended by business representatives, some coming from the Midvaal Local Municipality, where they were given a platform to highlight their grievances. Responding to some grievances, Nkomo-Ralehoko says allegations of corruption in the Emfuleni Municipality must be disclosed so that they can be investigated to recover money from those who are involved. She adds that the municipal corruption and mistakes are pushing investors away, and subjects its people to continue suffering from a lack of service delivery.
