Former Free State MEC for Economic Development, Mxolisi Dukwana, is expected to pick up where he left off at the State Capture Commission of Inquiry on Tuesday morning 27 August 2019.

Dukwana is expected to give further testimony on the alleged involvement of the former Premier, Ace Magashule, into the rampant looting of state funds in the province during his tenure as the premier. He earlier told the Zondo commission that Magashule took him to the house of the notorious Gupta family where Rajesh Gupta offered him R2 million with the hope that he would help the family get a multi-billion rand construction tender.

The former MEC also alleged that Magashule admitted to receiving monthly payments from Gupta to help further the family's business interests. His testimony comes amidst the #CR17 bank statement leaks exposing him as one of the beneficiaries who allegedly were paid R600 000 by the CR17 campaign. Dukwana is yet to comment on these allegations.

Meanwhile, Dukwana previously said Magashule sacked him because he wouldn't take him up on his offer. The commission will resume on Tuesday 27 August 2019 at 10:00. This after it was postponed for the day on Monday 26 August 2019 after hearing damning testimony from the former Chief Director from the office of the Minister in the Presidency, Brent Adrian Simons, who accused former President Jacob Zuma of telling half-truths.

This as he gave testimony on the removal of the former Government Communication and Information System (GCIS) Chief Executive Officer, Themba Maseko, and being replaced by Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi. This apparently happened after Zuma instructed former Minister in the Presidency and late Collins Chabane.
